Summary: Working directly with the Executive Director, manage and conduct the fundraising efforts of this small non-profit organization. Oversee the marketing and public relations efforts to gain wider visibility and support. These efforts are essential to OUA's ability to carry out its mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fundraising:
1. Meet annual fundraising goal of approximately $500,000.
2. Work with the Executive Director, Program Director, and Fundraising/Public Relations Committee of the Board to develop and manage the organization's Marketing/Fundraising three-year strategic plan to support the mission of the OUA.
3. Expand contributed revenue opportunities through the development of enhanced major gifts and annual giving program, corporate sponsorships, and local and national foundation giving.
4. Oversee annual dinner Auction, working with Auction Chairs and Auction Committee of the Board of Trustees. Manage fundraising efforts through table sales and corporate sponsorships.
5. Oversee smaller fundraising events including house parties hosted by members of the Board and school fundraisers.
6. Oversee the solicitation and management of in-kind donations.
7. Train and supervise part-time grant writer—help him/her meet fundraising goals and reporting responsibilities
Marketing:
1. Work with the Fundraising/Public Relations Committee of the Board to develop and implement a plan to expand visibility and support for the missions of the OUA.
2. Create and oversee the production of all print materials, including quarterly newsletters, event mailers, thank you letters.
3. Oversee organization's web site.
4. Work with local media to garner publicity for OUA.
5. Conduct presentations on the work of the OUA throughout the community.
Other Duties:
1. Manage OUA’s Intern program.
2. Travel to Ouelessebougou, Mali, West Africa at least every 3 years to experience the OUA's work first-hand.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree.
• Strong track record in fundraising.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong and proven project management skills.
• Experience in event planning and marketing is preferred
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Access, Internet, InDesign, PowerPoint, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and management skills and the ability to work as a team player.
• High energy level, high standards of professional ethics and conduct.
• Teambuilding and cross-cultural skills, including ability to work with broad range of persons (staff, Mali partners, volunteers, donors, educators, corporations, media).
• International interest and sensitivity.
